Terms of Service

SkillMart is a marketplace where people across Africa buy products, sell goods, hire skilled professionals and artisans, and post jobs. By creating an account or using skillmart.com, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy, Refund Policy, and Cookie Policy.

During signup you must confirm that you accept these terms before continuing. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.

A SkillMart account may hold one or more of the following roles:

• Buyer — purchase products, complete checkout, track orders, confirm delivery, and leave reviews.
• Seller — list products, manage inventory and orders, and receive payout after the buyer confirms delivery.
• Service provider — offer professional or artisan services, accept jobs, and receive payment from escrow when the client approves work.
• Employer (client) — post jobs or hire providers, fund escrow, approve work, and raise job disputes.

You must provide accurate details (name, email or Nigerian phone number, and any verification we request). Keep your login credentials private. We may suspend or ban accounts that breach these terms.

Sellers and providers are responsible for accurate photos, Naira pricing, stock, and service descriptions. Employers must describe jobs clearly. Buyers and clients must not place orders or hire for transactions they cannot complete.

Do not list or request anything unlawful in Nigeria, including:

• Stolen, counterfeit, or fraudulently described goods
• Weapons, explosives, or other items prohibited under Nigerian law
• Scams, fake jobs, or impersonation
• Content that exploits children or is otherwise unlawful

SkillMart may remove listings, close jobs, and restrict accounts. Reviews must relate to a genuine order or booking.

Product orders proceed through cart and checkout. You select a delivery option from logistics partners quoted at checkout (including pickup where offered) and pay before the seller is paid. Track the shipment from the buyer dashboard.

Hiring runs through Hire services or an employer job post. Funds are held until you approve the work, including milestone bookings where release follows the milestones you agreed.

SkillMart prices and payouts are in Naira (₦). Checkout is processed by our payment partner and may include card (Visa, Mastercard, Verve), bank transfer, and USSD. Complete payment on the partner’s secure page and return to SkillMart. Do not refresh the payment page mid-transaction; if needed, retry from Track orders.

Escrow is central to SkillMart: we hold your payment until you receive delivery (products) or approve the job (hire). Sellers and providers are paid after that confirmation, not at the moment you authorise payment. See Trust & Safety.

If something is wrong, use in-app disputes rather than off-platform pressure. Hire disputes remain on the booking with a SkillMart dispute officer. For product disputes, the buyer opens the case, uploads evidence of the product, the seller responds, and SkillMart confirms. Escrow remains held until then.

Read Dispute Resolution and the Refund Policy. We aim to close complete cases within about 3–5 business days.

SkillMart provides the marketplace, escrow, payment processing via external partners, messaging, and dispute tools. We are not the seller of every product or the employer of every provider. Dispute officers review cases in your dashboard.

We may update these terms as the product evolves. The date at the top reflects the latest version. We may suspend or close accounts for fraud, abuse, unpaid obligations, or illegal listings. You may stop using SkillMart and request account deletion from your account settings.
