Buying
How do I buy a product?+
Browse the shop, add items to your cart, and complete checkout. Choose a delivery option and pay through our payment partner. Your payment is held in escrow until you receive delivery. Confirm receipt in the buyer dashboard.
How do I know a seller is trustworthy?+
SkillMart highlights verification status and reviews on listings. See Trust & Safety for escrow, identity checks, and how payments are protected.
Where do I track an order?+
Sign in and open Track orders in the buyer dashboard. Confirm delivery when the item arrives so the seller can be paid.
What if the product is wrong or damaged?+
Do not confirm delivery. Open a return or dispute from that order, upload clear photos of what you received, and wait for the seller’s response. SkillMart reviews the case while escrow remains held. See Dispute Resolution.
Selling
How do I start selling?+
Create an account and complete seller onboarding from Become a Seller. List products with photos, Naira pricing, and stock. New orders appear in your seller dashboard.
When do I get paid?+
Payment is held in escrow when the buyer completes checkout. It is released after they confirm delivery. See How it works.
What if a buyer opens a dispute?+
You will be asked to respond in-app with your account of events and any supporting evidence. Escrow remains held until SkillMart confirms the outcome. See Dispute Resolution and the Refund Policy.
Hiring
How do I hire a provider or artisan?+
Use Hire services to browse technical, artisan, non-technical, and skilled-labour providers. You may hire directly or post a job from the employer dashboard.
Is job payment protected?+
Yes. Client funds are held in escrow and released when you approve completed work, including milestone-based bookings. Providers see the same hold on requests and active jobs.
How do job disputes work?+
Either party may raise a dispute on the booking. You continue the conversation in-app, a SkillMart dispute officer joins the case, and escrow remains paused until resolution. After login, open employer disputes or provider disputes.
Payments & account
Which payment methods do you support?+
Checkout is handled by our payment partner. You may pay by card (Visa, Mastercard, Verve), bank transfer, or USSD. Amounts are in Naira (₦).
I refreshed the payment page. What should I do?+
Payment links are single-use. Return to SkillMart, open Track orders, and retry payment if the order is still unpaid. Avoid refreshing the payment page while a transaction is in progress.
How do roles work?+
A SkillMart account may act as a buyer, seller, service provider, or employer. Sign up at Create account, then activate selling or hiring roles when you are ready.
