This Privacy Policy applies to the SkillMart website, mobile web experience, buyer and seller tools, hire and jobs features, checkout, messaging, and related dashboards operated by SkillMart.

Accounts on SkillMart may include one or more of the following roles:

• Buyer — purchases physical or digital products, manages cart and orders, and confirms receipt of delivery.
• Seller — lists and sells products, manages inventory and fulfilment, and receives payout after delivery is confirmed.
• Service provider — offers professional, artisan, or skilled services, accepts bookings or proposals, and delivers work under escrow.
• Employer (client) — posts jobs or hires providers, funds escrow, approves completed work, and manages bookings.

Depending on how you use SkillMart, we may collect the following categories of information:

• Account information — full name, email address, Nigerian phone number, password or authentication credentials, selected roles, identity or business verification details, and profile information.
• Transaction information — cart contents, shipping or service addresses, logistics preferences, payment references from our payment partner, escrow status, order and booking history, and delivery tracking.
• Communications — messages exchanged on hires, jobs, and disputes, including files or evidence you upload.
• Marketplace content — product listings (images, pricing, inventory), service profiles, portfolios, and job posts you create.
• Technical information — device and browser details, session tokens, cart state, and similar storage described in our Cookie Policy.

• Create, authenticate, and secure your SkillMart account, including social sign-in where you choose to use it
• Process checkout, escrow holds, payouts, refunds, and related financial workflows

Certain information is visible to other SkillMart users according to your role and what you publish — for example, store names, product listings, public provider profiles, and reviews.

We also share information with trusted external providers only as needed to operate the platform: payment processing partners for checkout and payouts; logistics partners for delivery; and, where a dispute is opened, SkillMart dispute officers who may review case messages and evidence. We may disclose information where required by applicable Nigerian law or lawful authority.

We apply technical and organisational measures to protect personal information in transit and to restrict staff access to what is necessary for support, verification, operations, and dispute handling.

We retain account and transaction records for as long as your account remains active and as required to fulfil escrow, refund, audit, and legal obligations. Where the product and law allow, we delete or anonymise information that is no longer needed.

You may update many profile details directly in your SkillMart account settings. If you need a copy of your personal data, a correction that cannot be completed in-app, or an account deletion request, contact us using the email address or phone number associated with your account.
